It took me almost six hours just to get through the first three levels on easy with all the handicaps listed above. It is a truly challenging game, and is probably one of the best games out on Live Arcade.

Alas, beautiful and fascinating though it may be, it is not substantial. There's a severe lack of depth for a game so enamored with its aspirations of an "open world." The gates may be open, but the possibilities couldn't be more limited.

A fairly uninteresting story along with badly written characters won't encourage you to play this to the end. Still, fans of dungeon crawlers will likely find something here to like.

It's a real pity that there are so many parts of Baroque that don't work, because the title also features some innovations for the dungeon-crawling sub-genre.

With a few new functions implemented into its old gameplay style and graphics, the Fatal Fury series is complete for PS2 owners who want the entire Neo Geo collection. For true classic fighting gamers and fans of the series, you now have the option to play online with a number of titles on one disc. For those less appreciative of fighting games of yesteryear, you may not even be interested.

The game's odd, dark storyline will keep you pushing onward to the conclusion. The patients' experiences are creepy and compelling, particularly since you're only given bits and pieces of the equation at a time.

A fun little arcade racer that will be a fun diversion for a few hours, but the novelty is likely to wear off quickly.

If you're a huge Mr. Driller fan, I urge you not to purchase this title. Namco doesn't deserve to be rewarded for their less-than-lackluster effort. I truly feel that this game is a complete rip-off!

Shortcomings aside, Arms for Victory is bound to suck you into its fold in short order. The immense battles with thousands of various units at your command are simply epic.

If you are a fan of past Gust RPGs like Atelier Iris and Ar tonelico, Mana Khemia may be something worth looking into. However, be forewarned that this game in no way features the same amount of freedom to roam and spend as much time as you please.

Double Sequence: The Q-Virus Invasion lacks a multitude of components. This game is the type you play out of sheer boredom and last resort.

The tried-and-true formula is executed almost flawlessly, but there isn't any innovation to speak of.

Part of me feels the need to defend this game, as I find myself almost feeling sorry for it. It's like a well-meaning kid that , because of inadequate parents, didn't get the break it deserves.

Unfortunately, it is pretty easy to beat, and as a result there will only be about 10 hours of fun in the initial play through. The simple game mechanic is not excellent, but it is good enough to go back and beat it several more times.

Dark Sector can best be described as a game born out of a formula. To create this game, you will need 2 parts Gears of War, 1 part Resident Evil, and a dash of X-Men. It is totally easy to rip this game to shreds based on this description. But as you play this game, something unexpected happens: you find yourself having an amazing amount of fun.

Possibly the best action game ever made for Nintendo DS. Tecmo did an outstanding job with it and most gamers should be more than happy if they decide to pick up the title.

This is a simple hack-and-slash game. By its very nature it's repetitive. By hinting at more depth with weapon upgrades, 79 playable and combinable characters with upgradable attributes, and a two-player mode, I think it's the developer's responsibility to fully realize these features and implement them in the gameplay. Otherwise don't tease us.

Belief & Betrayal is more apt to irritate than titillate. Chances are it will run on your PC, but its humdrum story and unnecessarily tedious gameplay will leave you wondering why you bothered in the first place.

When all is said and done, Backyard Baseball '09 is a forgettable title that may go over with very young gamers. Though the title is not all bad, mature gamers are better off saving the time and money!
