All of the VR missions, Snake Tales, palette swapped characters and the Boss Battles make Substance a must have for ANY Xbox owner.

The SNES port looks great, it really comes to life on the GBA but the NES levels are embarrassing. This Frankenstein piece-together must have been getting the bum's rush out of the lab and into the stores in time for the Christmas cash grab.

Don't confuse this game with the console games however. Console games good; GBA game bad.

It's bright colorful landscapes and cute character, Zapper the Cricket, will appeal to those who still rifle through their underwear drawer looking for their Superman or Wonder Woman underoos.

Sadly, the game doesn't have much in the way of replay value. It's short and sweet.

Actually a better game than either of the console versions - but not by much. It's more fun to play and the puzzle elements will give your brain a good burn.

Stay far away from this game as even a rental would be grounds for a lawsuit against TDK for "cruel and unusual punishment".

The game falls apart at the multi-player mode, the very mode of which this entire party concept rides on.

The one thing most critics don't seem to get, is that this game isn't loved because of it's violence...What makes this game so popular and loved among gamers is it's freedom.

Strictly middle-of-the road. It's not bad and it's not good. It's just there. What really holds it back is that it's not challenging enough.

This game is not worth playing for free. Don't ask for it and don't buy it for anyone except a little bastard that deserves it.

The game may not have much in the way of replay value, but for bang for your buck, I think it packs enough punch the first time through.

I felt there was entirely too many bosses to fight and not nearly enough run and gun action. Each short action stage is merely setting you up for another boss battle.
