Super Mario Odyssey is the culmination of years of experience from Nitendo's developers. It seems like everything great from past games has found its place in this adventure. All the exploration and its marvels are back, combined with great platforming and surprises. Also, Super Mario Odyssey is a game that really pushes the Switch's capabilities... and you can play on the go and get some Power Moons anywhere, anytime.- Atomix

Elden Ring is not only the best game FromSoftware has released to date, but it's also one of the best open world games I've enjoyed in recent years. We are facing a title that manages to perfectly mix each of its elements, and the results really could not be better.- Atomix

It makes my heart happy to tell you that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is one of the best video games of all time, just as Breath of the Wild was in 2017 and will continue to be. The mastery that the Japanese company shows with this product makes even today's super AAAs feel like bland and empty experiences that aren't worth it. On the one hand, I'm worried about the crater that this game is going to leave and how everything we touch afterward feels tasteless, but at the same time, I'm glad that even with dozens of hours on me, I still feel like I'm There is still a lot to discover and experience, especially now that everyone will be able to fully enter. And yes, there is a clear Game of the Year winner. The discussion and contention is over.- Atomix

More than a sequel, Hades II is a testament to the talent of Supergiant Games. The studio has once again proven that there's no one like them in the industry. Hades II is not only one of the best roguelites of recent years, but it's also one of the best games of 2025, demonstrating the talent in the indie scene and the potential the genre holds.- Atomix

PlayStation boasts a new and wonderful exclusive that will be difficult to match and, of course, it seems that it gives way to a new saga within the wonderful universe of Kratos. It is not enough to be ambitious. The most important thing is to know how to land those ambitions.- Atomix

The star here is the Shadow Realm. The way this map is built plays very well with its limitations, creating a layered world that takes exploration to a new level for the series. Traveling through this open world is extremely satisfying and gives us so many options that it can even be overwhelming for some people, but at the same time it gives rise to an experience that only Tears of the Kingdom had achieved in recent years. Shadow of the Erdtree is an expansion that no one should miss, and a solid candidate for the best of the year.- Atomix

There's no doubt that Metaphor: ReFantazio is one of the best games of the year. Atlus and Studio Zero have delivered an experience that no one can afford to miss. With more than 20 years working for this company, Katsura Hashino and his team have shown that they still have a lot to give us, and I wouldn't be surprised if this is the start of a new saga that, over time, becomes as important and acclaimed as Persona and Shin Megami Tensei.- Atomix

God of War: Ragnarök is an unforgettable journey filled with epic and intimate moments that can range from slaying one of Asgard's gods, to how deep and complex the relationship between father and son is. Supporting all this, we have a brilliant action and adventure game that surpasses its predecessor in everything and that also teaches what are standards when we talk about a super production within the medium. Game of the Year Candidate? Of course, probably the only tangible and realistic rival to everything that Elden Ring achieved a few months ago. The closure of this new saga of Kratos is one that has achieved and far exceeded our expectations and that, of course, makes it a jewel of what Sony has achieved in recent years with its first party developments.- Atomix

Persona 5 is simply one of the greatest games and JRPGs in recent years. Atlus exceeded itself with one incredible title that not only offers an even better and perfected formula from its fantastic predecessor (Persona 4), but it also shows how a series can evolve with a few additions and accurate adjustments. With its unique, dark and enjoyable story; cast of memorable characters; a fluid and addictive battle system; and a wide variety of activities to engage in, it is simply impossible to find any reason to deprive yourself of this great experience. Even if you are not a fan of the genre, this is a title you should play at any cost.- Atomix

One of the best stories the medium has ever seen, memorable characters that really matter, a refined combat system that is amplified with great new ideas, living open worlds that are constantly surprising you and of course, an authentic audiovisual presentation. scream, make Final Fantasy VII Rebirth not only the most serious candidate to win the Game of the Year title in 2024, but also one of the most outstanding representatives of its genre in all of history.
