Astro Bot is simply perfect. One of the best PlayStation games ever made. A 3D platformer that rivals Nintendo's work. A serious candidate for the Game of the Year award.

Uncharted 4 works excellently as the definitive action-adventure experience and as a deep narrative-driven game. The huge attention to small details combined with the perfect adjustments to a functional gameplay formula results in a product that shows us the thirty-year experience of Naughty Dog, one of the most valuable videogame developers out there today.

Elden Ring is not only the best game FromSoftware has released to date, but it's also one of the best open world games I've enjoyed in recent years. We are facing a title that manages to perfectly mix each of its elements, and the results really could not be better.

Super Mario Odyssey is the culmination of years of experience from Nitendo's developers. It seems like everything great from past games has found its place in this adventure. All the exploration and its marvels are back, combined with great platforming and surprises. Also, Super Mario Odyssey is a game that really pushes the Switch's capabilities... and you can play on the go and get some Power Moons anywhere, anytime.

God of War: Ragnarök is an unforgettable journey filled with epic and intimate moments that can range from slaying one of Asgard's gods, to how deep and complex the relationship between father and son is. Supporting all this, we have a brilliant action and adventure game that surpasses its predecessor in everything and that also teaches what are standards when we talk about a super production within the medium. Game of the Year Candidate? Of course, probably the only tangible and realistic rival to everything that Elden Ring achieved a few months ago. The closure of this new saga of Kratos is one that has achieved and far exceeded our expectations and that, of course, makes it a jewel of what Sony has achieved in recent years with its first party developments.

Death Stranding is the birth of a new genre. Death Stranding is a masterpiece that can only be generated by a mind like the one that Hideo Kojima has.

The Witness gathers an incredible amount of puzzles scattered in an open world that many times surpasses the boundaries of the video game. Even though it's not as climatic as its predecessor, it respects the player as an intelligent being.

More than a sequel, Hades II is a testament to the talent of Supergiant Games. The studio has once again proven that there's no one like them in the industry. Hades II is not only one of the best roguelites of recent years, but it's also one of the best games of 2025, demonstrating the talent in the indie scene and the potential the genre holds.

One of the best stories the medium has ever seen, memorable characters that really matter, a refined combat system that is amplified with great new ideas, living open worlds that are constantly surprising you and of course, an authentic audiovisual presentation. scream, make Final Fantasy VII Rebirth not only the most serious candidate to win the Game of the Year title in 2024, but also one of the most outstanding representatives of its genre in all of history. No, I'm not exaggerating. We are facing one of the best action RPGs of this wonderful form of entertainment, which of course is saying a lot if one considers everything that has been done in the past. Square Enix has hit a home run that even left the stadium and, for its part, the PS5 scores a new exclusive that undoubtedly cures what Sony's own internal studios are not doing.

The evolution of video games has been long and, at times, painful. Undoubtedly, one of the most important turning points was when we made the leap to 3D in the mid-1990s, which, for many, left 2D games as a thing of the past. This change brought with it profound consequences, such as a severe setback in design; video game design had to be learned almost from scratch. Fortunately for all of us, the knowledge acquired before that eventuality was quickly revisited, and today we find ourselves in a much more mature era where both styles can coexist seamlessly and even combine in crazy new ways. Hollow Knight: Silksong feels largely like the result of so much experience...Hollow Knight: Silksong largely represents the best of this form of entertainment that we are so passionate about, this in the midst of a difficult crisis for the industry that is looking everywhere to reinvent itself to become profitable again and of course, not stop this unstoppable cascade of creativity that year after year gives us great experiences on all fronts. Almost out of nowhere, this small group of Australians returns to deliver one of the most special video games I have played in a long time at a price that still sounds ridiculous to many, precisely when the conversation on this matter has taken on very intense overtones due to the sustained rise in the price of these products.

A titanic open world full of life and things to do, a robust combat system, the best story ever to grace the series, an unprecedented artistic direction, puzzles that will blow your mind...are only some of the elements that make The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild an authentic masterpiece that will leave a mark on this medium forever.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is a game different enough for those who enjoyed the 2019 installment to admire the evolution that Kojima Productions presents this time around. However, those who didn't connect with the PS4 title will hardly be convinced by what the sequel has in store for us, and that's okay. As spectacular as this game is, it will still divide the community and, like any good work of art, will spark conversations of all kinds. Hideo Kojima has done it once: Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is one of the best experiences of the current generation, and something that defines video games as more than just entertainment. It's a message for today's world, a love letter to the medium, and an exploration of our capacity to lend a helping hand to someone in need.

It makes my heart happy to tell you that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is one of the best video games of all time, just as Breath of the Wild was in 2017 and will continue to be. The mastery that the Japanese company shows with this product makes even today's super AAAs feel like bland and empty experiences that aren't worth it. On the one hand, I'm worried about the crater that this game is going to leave and how everything we touch afterward feels tasteless, but at the same time, I'm glad that even with dozens of hours on me, I still feel like I'm There is still a lot to discover and experience, especially now that everyone will be able to fully enter. And yes, there is a clear Game of the Year winner. The discussion and contention is over.

The growth that Monolith Soft has had since it was acquired by Nintendo is something that should be highlighted much more frequently, because in addition to becoming a key part of the present and future of The Legend of Zelda, they have taken the banner of the avant-garde of the Japanese role, not an easy task to execute. The way in which the multiple layers that make up Xenoblade Chronicles 3 were placed is the result of the meticulous work of authentic craftsmen who are passionate about what they do. Each piece, each element, each point of this new game has a purpose and a reason for being. Nothing exists just to exist. An epic story that has shaken us in different ways, endearing characters, super complex and super satisfying combat and class system, a titanic open world full of things to discover, impressive cinematics and in general, a very clear logic in everything it presents , make Xenoblade Chronicles 3 a true masterpiece, one that in my dictionary, should be fighting yes or yes for the title of best game of the year and of course, as one of the greatest exclusives that the Nintendo Switch has, matter which, as we all know, is a lot to say. Monolith has ratified its place within the elite of the medium.

Pikmin 4 is simply a brilliant game that has far exceeded all my expectations. Its impressive level design, refined core gameplay, enchanting story, and extremely sophisticated audiovisual presentation make it a game that is very hard not to enjoy and one that can hardly be found with serious errors. Nintendo and the team that Miyamoto left in charge of his highly prized creation, understood perfectly what makes the series so special and in a way that I frankly don't understand, they found clear areas for improvement and innovation to deliver a well-rounded experience.

Featuring spectacular gameplay full of innovative ideas and innovative gameplay supported by truly exhilarating controls and, of course, a level design that blew our minds at every turn, Donkey Kong Bananza once again sets a very high standard for all games in the genre and, in the process, returns the iconic gorilla to a privileged position thanks to the brand that saw its birth so many years ago. The experience is rounded out by a simply spectacular audiovisual presentation. It's more than obvious that if you recently got a Switch 2 a month ago, or even recently, this game must be your top priority. For quite some time now, whenever a new Forza Horizon title is announced, we can be almost entirely certain that we will be treated to a very solid racing experience—one that also allows us to explore some exotic region of the world. Playground Games understands its own formula to perfection, and—at least so far—it has managed to successfully evolve it with each successive release. This first look at Forza Horizon 6 demonstrates that this trend is set to continue; while this is great news on one hand, it leaves us longing for something new and distinct for the series on the other.
