So here's the thing; if you think you can cope with dodgy controls and annoying restarts and want to witness something of a minor miracle for gaming on the iPhone then Prince of Persia Warrior Within is worth downloading.

The level design encourages planning and more than just trial and error, the physics hit the spot and the graphics are well designed, but for anyone with an aversion for the hard sell within a game Jumpster doesn't do itself any favours. Retweet this!

For less than a couple of pounds you can indulge in your own Predator fantasies for a few hours. This, the satisfying kills and the detailed graphics save the game from being forgettable and make it worth downloading if you're a fan of the franchise.

Fans of world building games who are keen to explore a bit more of the E.T. universe are well catered for by this garden sim. It may not be out-of-this-world, but it's a solid game with plenty to keep would-be green fingers busy. If I had to grade this, I'd give it a B-good.

Shrek fans will lap this decent game licence up and probably forgive the odd control and camera issues in favour of the story and voice acting. Kids in particular will love this game, but for most of us older gamers the action will be over before the fat Ogre roars.

Fruit Tumble isn't exactly original, there are a number of Luxor clones around and it doesn't really do anything new, but what it lacks in originality it makes up for in charm and colour.

A great game and a worthy addition to the growing number of fighters on the iPhone. It shows that 3D fighters are possible and it's a great homage to the Dragon himself that he finally gets a game which celebrates his life.

What you should take away is that what you get out of the game will depend on how much you enjoy listening to music, and not much else.

Street Fighter IV on iPhone can still be considered a success, and Capcom really do deserve a medal for pulling it off. I thought it couldn't be done, and I'll happily admit I was wrong.

Whether you get a lot of joy from this game or not will really depend on two things; whether you love Peanuts and whether you are either patient enough to wait for new items or have the cash to spare to upgrade faster. Those who are already against freemium titles won't really be swayed by this game, but there is a lot of fun to be had for people who like the slower pace and love Snoopy.

With 20 levels in each section and 5 sections to get through, there is plenty of fun to be had with Moon Active's game. Though it may be a bit short for the more accomplished gamer, Bitter Sam is still worth dangling some cash over the App Store for.

Essentially, Sky Defenders does nothing new in terms of gameplay or innovation and comes close to being a blatant copy of One Man Left's popular title at times, but the graphics and extra powers do allow the game to create its own identity. If you're a fan of tilting survival games then it's worth checking Superplay's superhero title out.

Only the small number of levels disappoint, but the developer is promising that more updates are on the way soon. If you manage to fight your way through the stationary then expect to commence battle again shortly.

It's certainly one of the best looking sports games on iOS and well worth investing some time in. I only wish NaturalMotion would work on providing a full match version of the sport with proper team against team play.

House of the Dead: Overkill - the Lost Reels is short but instantly playable. It's a very cut down version of a much loved game and doesn't offer much in the way of longevity, but with some clever controls and replayability thanks to the focus on score attack it's still worth a look for fans of lightgun games.

Jazz: Trump's Journey is a high-class game that wouldn't look out of place on the PC or XBox Live Arcade. Whilst not quite rubbing shoulders with the giants, it can still hold its head up high amongst its contemporaries.

Give the game an inch however, and it'll steal a mile; Oh, My Word! 2 is deceptively good fun. Word-puzzle fans shouldn't think twice about snapping this up.

Ultimately Stair Dismount fails to be much more than a quick five minutes of fun.

It is fun to play in short bursts, and perhaps in short bursts it might last you a little while. If you like long gaming sessions though, it can easily be done in a few hours. Hopefully in future updates Strange Games will add new chapters that are a lot harder, and integration with Game center.

The fact that it plays well is icing on the already sweet cake, just don't expect a white knuckle thrill ride or to see any red shells. The fat plumber isn't even close to being relieved of his crown. Not yet.

Dash over to the App Store and pick up this cunningly addictive game now for the miniscule price of $0.99. Guaranteed, once you start "RUN!"-ing (sorry, we just had to say it), you'll find it hard to stop those quick feet.

Spirit Walkers is a lovely slow-paced adventure with a good story that will see you wanting to uncover the mystery of the Cyprus Witch and help her to change the past.

Rock(s) Rider has it's fair share of faults, mostly in setting levels which feel just the wrong side of unfair and having a camera which is zoomed in a little close. As with every other game in this genre, the physics isn't as good as it is in Redlynx's title by a long shot, the bike is often far too light to seem realistic.

Only the slightly unreal feel of the physics themselves stand in the way of making this a perfect addition to the crop of physics puzzlers jostling for space on the App Store. It's still an enjoyable little game that's well worth picking up if you're interested by the idea of sticking pinball and physics puzzles together.

While other racers, or even a ghost car of your last lap, would improve the game, the thrill of building the best car and testing it out is enough to warrant a purchase.

With more tracks,more variety and more reason to go back to earlier races, Retro Racing would be perfect, but as it stands the game is still a great little racer that will remind old timers like myself of the glory days of the Amiga.

Overall it is a good game. The production levels are high, and I like it as a 'simple idea done well'. I would love to have seen a bit more though; perhaps some more unlockables, different food items, secret bonuses or something.

The occasional 'scary' moments add some tense atmosphere, which the game really relies on. It's worth getting, as it will last a few hours.
