For all the things that go wrong towards the end of the game and despite a lacklustre plot and short length, Mirror's Edge is a game that I can't help but enjoy.

With plenty of single player modes to entertain you for months and the online depth that fans have craved, any self-respecting FIFA fan who picks up FIFA 08 should be ready to clear off their gaming plates.

Appealing to a multitude of fans, including those of Marvel, action-RPGs and multiplayer, most gamers should feel little hesitation in giving Marvel: Ultimate Alliance a try.

A triumphant return to top form for the series and a very successful reinvention, making it arguably the best Onimusha yet.

Whilst Deception is much better than "Deadly Alliance" and the inclusion of online play is done flawlessly and is great fun, the main single player attraction is just so dumbed-down and chore-like that it's not a whole lot of fun and I couldn't imagine ever going through it again.

A fine balance of playability and realism.

Its triumphant visuals, amazing sound and music, tense and engaging storyline, gripping and varied gameplay, fabulous array of weapons and gadgets, lengthy single player campaign (complete with full online Co-Op for every level) and array of brilliantly crafted multiplayer modes and maps, all combine to make this arguably Rare's best ever game and certainly the Xbox 360's best launch game.

FIFA Football 2005 has more than proved its worth with some lovely new control features that add a lot more subtlety and variety to the gameplay, an extensive and highly involved career mode and those gorgeous graphics.

For this price and this level of quality, it is an absolute bargain - it isn't one of the very best PSP games, but it's not far off either. It does an excellent job of being many things at once - a movie tie-in, fighting game, mission-based open exploration game and more. And it provides compelling gameplay throughout.

Graphically it looks wonderful and plays just as well, but next year Yukes really needs to scrap a lot of the built-in aspects and redesign from the ground up, such as the CAW and Season modes.

A groundbreaking PC game that supremely talented developers Ion Storm somehow managed to squeeze onto the PS2, all the more amazing considering that there's no hard drive to work with.

There's still plenty of room for improvement in terms of atmosphere, but EA Sports are going in the right direction and Tiger Woods 10 is easily the best of the series to date.

In an online world surrounded by countless traditional shooter games, MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf stands out as not just a great mech game, but a great shooting game. Everything here is done well and the new features are implemented brilliantly.

EA is back on track with this franchise and next year we should see even more improvements. Whether or not you'll be playing this instalment until then is debateable. As much as I have enjoyed my experience with NBA Live 10, it isn't going to hold my attention for much longer, save the local multiplayer.

The brilliant conclusion that the trilogy needed.

At first I thought it was fairly menial and uninteresting, running around looking after crops, but you get drawn into the tactics behind making enough money to marry a lass and raise kids, while enjoying the great character of the title.

When the concept of OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast was pitched there would have been a decision made, go retro and incorporate as much of the older title with some new elements, or make a new and revolutionary racing simulator. The result was to sit in the middle and therefore the end result is essentially a mediocre title.

Ultimately, if you've not had the pleasure of playing this on the Cube and you have a couple of mates to enjoy this title with, then it's definitely worth the money. Better yet, wait for this one to drop ten pounds in price and pick up a bargain worth rolling home with.

Telltale Games have created a charming little adventure – a rare low budget gem tucked away amongst the PSN dross.

With added skirmish missions, multiplayer and increased difficulty settings, there's plenty to stick around for once the main game has been completed.

Civilization Revolution is great fun on the DS. It's quite refreshing to see that the developers weren't overly ambitious with trying to push the limited hardware too hard, and it's even better to see it all come together so well.

A very polished, well made game that breaks new ground in platforming; I highly recommend this game for anyone seeking a change from the traditional platformer or anyone who doesn't have a great interest in video games to begin with.

Buzz! Quiz World continues the high standards of the series so far, the timing making boring New Year parties a thing of the past. For those who never quite liked Buzz, there are no major changes to the formula, but for anyone with a taste for quizzing, this is yet another essential purchase.

Funcom has done something quite dangerous by consciously releasing a less than feature complete offering into the market. Unfortunately, it's this incompleteness and the sheer number of deep-rooted problems that ultimately defines your Hyborian Adventure.

I feel as though I should be warning you that it's not just retro but positively a step backwards, and as we all know backwards steps are not good ones.

With enjoyable characters and a story that's great fun, along with a host of things to see, do and find that will take you hours and hours to fully discover, Bully can definitely stand up to some of the bigger boys on 360 and is the perfect way to while away your time until the ever-nearing release of "Grand Theft Auto IV."

The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night is a gift that keeps giving until completion.
