The Worst New TV Shows of 2018
What were the biggest television duds of the past year? Above are the lowest-scoring first-year primetime TV series (including limited series) debuting in the United States between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018. Shows are ranked by Metascore (an average of grades from top professional critics on a 0-100 scale) prior to rounding, and any programs with fewer than 7 reviews are excluded.
(#5) A quasi-spinoff from The Late Show, this animated Showtime series parodying the current occupant of the White House comes from that show's producers, including Stephen Colbert and Chris Licht. It is far less interesting (or funny) than Comedy Central's live-action series The President Show, though as of this moment neither series has plans for future episodes.
“Overall, Cartoon comes off as slight, dated and unsustainable. Watching one episode is enough to get the point. Watching nine more feels unnecessary. Tuning into Colbert's monologue seems more fun.” —Kelly Lawler, USA Today
