The Worst New TV Shows of 2018
What were the biggest television duds of the past year? Above are the lowest-scoring first-year primetime TV series (including limited series) debuting in the United States between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018. Shows are ranked by Metascore (an average of grades from top professional critics on a 0-100 scale) prior to rounding, and any programs with fewer than 7 reviews are excluded.
(#2) Former minor celebrity Tom Arnold takes it upon himself to track down audiovisual recordings of Donald Trump's past misdeeds—including the infamous Russian "pee tape"—in this Viceland reality series that comes off like a particularly ineffective Michael Moore film. Critics didn't much see the point of the show, and also couldn't quite figure out how self-aware it was, though they found it to be a failure even as a satire.
“The whole point of Arnold’s quest--to unearth more footage of Trump saying horrific, potentially damaging, things--seems a little, well, overdone.” —Libby Torres, The Daily Beast
