The 10 Worst TV Shows of 2016
Below are the lowest-scoring first-year TV series debuting in the United States between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016. Shows are ranked by Metascore (an average of grades from top professional critics on a 0-100 scale) prior to rounding, and any programs with fewer than 7 reviews are excluded.
The ABC sitcom Full House was never one of the more critically acclaimed shows on television, but it was a hit, running for eight seasons across the late 1980s and early '90s. Ditto for its sequel. While critics found little to like in this bland but occasionally tolerable Netflix follow-up (which reunites most of the original cast), fans apparently were more forgiving. After bringing the show back quickly for a second season a few weeks ago, Netflix just renewed it for a third season.
"Fuller House begins as a sitcom family reunion. It becomes a self-conscious, dated and maudlin reminder of the ceaseless march of time and your inevitable demise." — James Poniewozik, The New York Times
