The 10 Worst TV Shows of 2016
Below are the lowest-scoring first-year TV series debuting in the United States between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016. Shows are ranked by Metascore (an average of grades from top professional critics on a 0-100 scale) prior to rounding, and any programs with fewer than 7 reviews are excluded.
One black mark in an otherwise decent year for the network, Syfy's adaptation of Whitley Strieber’s novel Alien Hunter was a bit of a low-rent X-Files (mixed with Fringe and countless other, better shows), following an FBI agent who gets enlisted in the department's secretive counter-alien-terrorism unit. Syfy canceled the series after one low-rated, unmemorable season.
"Utterly generic, conceptually cynical and instantly forgettable." — Brian Lowry, Variety
