The 15 Worst Movies of 2021
Above are the lowest-scoring films released in the United States between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021. Films are ranked by Metascore (an average of grades given by top professional critics) prior to rounding, and any titles with fewer than 4 reviews are excluded. All scores are from December 24, 2021.
(#14) Saw V director David Hackl extended his streak of films without a green Metascore in November with this unremarkable and derivative action thriller starring Scott Eastwood as an ex-Navy SEAL and "reformed sociopath" who investigates his brother's mysterious death. (His reform comes via a prescription for an antipsychotic provided by a therapist played by Mel Gibson, if that helps.)
“A shambles of a movie, with a plot so contrived yet abstract that you spend each scene asking yourself how it’s all supposed to add up.” —Owen Gleiberman, Variety
