(#1) Metacritic's Official Worst Movie of 2017.
(Un?)fortunately, 2017 was not a banner year for awful movies. Recent years have given us films scoring as low as 2 and 1. But 2017? The lowest we got was a 12,, thanks to this steaming pile of family fun from Sony Pictures Animation that brings to life the illustrated shortcuts we all use to avoid actual communication. It's not even bad enough to be entertaining, so don't expect James Franco to make a film chronicling its production.
“It is one of the darkest, most dismaying films I have ever seen, much less one ostensibly made for children. ” —Emily Yoshida, Vulture
