Below are the lowest-scoring films released in the United States between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016. Films are ranked by Metascore (an average of grades given by top professional critics) prior to rounding, and any titles with fewer than 7 reviews are excluded.

The third "documentary" from right-wing author turned filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza was another moneymaker despite receiving horrendous reviews (even more so than his previous films). Basically an ill-informed internet comments section come to life, the film didn't just anger critics because they disagreed with its politics. Even reviewers who would otherwise be open to some of D'Souza's views panned the director for his egotism, hyperbole, and clumsy, Tommy Wiseau-caliber filmmaking.
