Debuts January 14 on HBO. Pete Holmes' fictionalized account of his early career as a struggling stand-up comedian in the midst of a divorce earned generally positive reviews in its debut season, even if it flew slightly beneath the radar of many TV viewers. In its upcoming second season, the Judd Apatow-produced series looks to build on what worked—including having guest- and co-stars Lauren Lapkus, Artie Lange, George Basil, and Dave Attell return. They'll be joined by new faces like Jamie Lee (Girl Code), who plays another young comic who introduces Pete to the alternative comedy scene. Guests playing versions of themselves include Doug Benson, Whitney Cummings, John Mulaney, Bill Burr, Penn Jillette, The Lucas Brothers, Eugene Mirman, Gilbert Gottfried, and Aparna Nancherla.
