Debuts January 8 on HBO. This HBO documentary film looks at the legendary rock star's final years of life—a remarkably fruitful period that produced a pair of well-received albums (The Next Day and Blackstar) as well as a Broadway musical (Lazarus). Following up his 2013 film David Bowie: Five Years, director Francis Whately combines intimate behind-the-scenes footage of Bowie himself with interviews with collaborators such as producer Tony Visconti. The film received glowing reviews when it debuted in the UK last year as well as when it screened at a festival in the USA last month.
