Debuts January 3 on Fox. Fox's revival of the beloved series for a 10th season in 2016 after a dozen-year absence was a disappointment for many fans and reviewers, though the six new episodes did produce at least one classic. But series creator Chris Carter claims to have worked out the kinks for this 11th season. It's an encouraging sign that only the premiere and season finale will center on the ongoing storyline, while the remaining eight episodes will be stand-alone adventures.
The original cast (led by David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson) returns again, while the new season also includes appearances by Annabeth Gish, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Karin Konoval, Barbara Hershey, Brian Huskey, and Haley Joel Osment. Be on the lookout for episode four, a comedic hour written and directed by Darin Morgan (who was responsible for the aforementioned one great season 10 episode, "Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster"). Another episode will serve as an origin story for Mitch Pileggi’s Director Skinner.
