2018 TV Preview: 25 Shows to Watch This Winter
If you opt to heat up your winter months with television's warm, glowing, warming glow, you certainly won't run out of options. January and February will see the arrival of new shows from Steven Soderbergh, Alan Ball, Ryan Murphy, Ronald D. Moore, Cary Fukunaga, Alex Gibney, and more. Expect a pair of promising sci-fi shows, a new (but different) DC Comics series, the return of favorites like The X-Files, and even a cartoon look at the Trump presidency. Preview each of the season's most promising new and returning shows in the gallery above.
Debuts February 26 on NBC. Not to be confused with Amazon's gone-too-soon Good Girls Revolt, this new dramedy comes from Scandal writer Jenna Banns. Faster than you can say "Thelma & Louise," three suburban moms (Christina Hendricks, Mae Whitman, and Retta) decide to solve their money problems by robbing a local grocery store with toy guns. Needless to say, it doesn't quite go according to plan. Matthew Lillard and Reno Wilson round out a very strong cast. NBC has high hopes for the series, which has good early buzz and will get the prized Monday timeslot following The Voice (and will stream on Netflix outside of the USA).
