Winter TV Preview: 20 Notable Shows
Are you ready for not one, not two, but three different reinventions of the comic book TV series? How about period dramas starring Tom Hardy and Christina Ricci? A look at the life of another English queen, or a fictitious American pope? The return of The Good Wife and 24? Or perhaps all you need is a Series of Unfortunate Events.
Those concepts and more are headed to the small screen between now and early March. Find details on 20 noteworthy upcoming shows (both new and returning series, plus miniseries) below, ordered by date. With Star Trek: Discovery delayed until the summer, it now falls to this spinoff from The Good Wife to become the first scripted original series for CBS's nascent streaming service. The Good Fight centers on Christine Baranski's Diane Lockhart character one year later, when a financial scam forces her to leave her firm for another.
Cush Jumbo, Zach Grenier, Gary Cole, and Sarah Steele are among the others making the jump to the new show, while newcomers include Rose Leslie, Delroy Lindo, Paul Guilfoyle, Bernadette Peters, Justin Bartha, and Erica Tazel.
