10 Films to See in February
The shortest month of the year is typically an uninspiring one at the cineplex. But this February is not without its intriguing releases, including a well-reviewed new horror film from Key & Peele's Jordan Peele, one of the best documentaries in recent memory, the year's only Polish vampire musical (so far), an Oscar-nominated animated tale, and sequels to recent successes like John Wick and The LEGO Movie.
Coming to select theaters a few days before it airs on HBO on February 13th, this documentary follows Eagles of Death Metal as they return to Paris for the first time after the terrorist attack of November 13, 2015 at the Bataclan theater. Directed by Colin Hanks (All Things Must Pass), the film focuses on the friendship between co-founders Jesse Hughes and Josh Homme (who was not at the Bataclan gig) and the bond between the band and its fans, highlighted by a performance at the Olympia concert hall three months after the attacks.
