21 TV Shows to Watch This Summer
The coming summer, arguably, may not have the sheer volume of high profile shows that we have become accustomed to in recent years. But that certainly doesn't mean there won't be anything to watch. In fact, the highlights—led by the returns of Twin Peaks and Game of Thrones—include some of this year's most-anticipated shows regardless of season.
Below you can find details on the most notable TV debuts this summer (both new and returning shows), ordered by date. For more premiere dates and details on every upcoming show (including those not profiled here), visit our 2017 TV Premiere Calendar.
Are TV viewers ready for another drama about comedy? Perhaps Showtime's latest original series can succeed where predecessors like Studio 60 (and films like Funny People) failed. At least I'm Dying Up Here has the added intrigue of being a period drama, focusing on the stand-up comedy scene in Los Angeles during the 1970s. Jim Carrey is among the producers, while the cast is topped by Melissa Leo and Ari Graynor and also includes Jake Lacy, Clark Duke, RJ Cyler, Sebastian Stan, Michael Angarano, and Andrew Santino. Guests include Jon Daly, Al Madrigal, Alfred Molina, and Robert Forster.
