21 TV Shows to Watch This Summer
The coming summer, arguably, may not have the sheer volume of high profile shows that we have become accustomed to in recent years. But that certainly doesn't mean there won't be anything to watch. In fact, the highlights—led by the returns of Twin Peaks and Game of Thrones—include some of this year's most-anticipated shows regardless of season.
Below you can find details on the most notable TV debuts this summer (both new and returning shows), ordered by date. For more premiere dates and details on every upcoming show (including those not profiled here), visit our 2017 TV Premiere Calendar.

Debuts August 24 on Seeso
NBC's streaming comedy service Seeso has already produced some solid originals, including Bajillion Dollar Propertie$ (returning for a 3rd season on June 1st) and Hidden America (which just debuted its second season). Its latest newcomer is a period dramedy created by Paul Reiser (with his former Mad About You writer David Steven Simon) and directed in part by David Gordon Green (Red Oaks).
The seven-episode series follows a 19-year-old (Ian Nelson) who stumbles into a job on The Tonight Show in the 1970s, where Joy (Jane Levy) works as a talent coordinator. Tony Danza co-stars as legendary Tonight Show producer Fred de Cordova, though the show incorporates archival footage of Carson and Ed McMahon rather than have actors portray them.
