Summer TV Preview: 25 Notable Shows
In the gallery above, find details on the most noteworthy TV premieres coming this summer, including newcomers such as Castle Rock, Pose, Sharp Objects, and Jack Ryan, returning favorites like Arrested Development and Luke Cage, plus a handful of movies, miniseries, and specials.
Debuts June 7 on Freeform. We appear to be heading toward a future where every network will have its own Marvel series. The first for Freeform focuses on two teens (Olivia Holt, Aubrey Joseph) who are linked by newfound superpowers (one dark, one light)—as well as a budding romance. The debut season runs for just 10 episodes, which is probably a plus given the bloat that has taken hold of many of Marvel's other current TV titles. Gina Prince-Bythewood (Beyond the Lights) directs the opener, which seemed to go over very well with audiences at its SXSW premiere earlier this year.
