Spring TV Preview: 25 Shows to Watch
Even without Game of Thrones (which doesn't return until summer), this is a loaded spring TV season. Some of the small screen's best shows—including Fargo, The Americans, Veep, Better Call Saul, Review, and the newly revived Mystery Science Theater 3000—return, joined by pedigreed newcomers like Iron Fist, American Gods, I Love Dick, Feud, and The Handmaid's Tale.
Below, browse the most notable new and returning shows debuting between now and mid-May, ordered by date. And for more premiere dates and details on every upcoming show (including those not profiled here), visit our 2017 TV Premiere Calendar.
With true crime stories all the rage in recent years, it was only a matter of time before a spoof came along. Shot mockumentary style—and inspired mainly by the 2004 classic The Staircase—this fish-out-of-water tale finds a big-city lawyer (Nicholas D'Agosto) heading to a small town to defend an eccentric poetry professor (John Lithgow, in his first regular sitcom role since 3rd Rock from the Sun) against charges that he murdered his wife. Two new episodes will air each week, and a second season (if there is one) would follow a completely different case with the same cast.
