Debuts April 22 on HBO. Does HBO have another Game of Thrones-level hit on its hands, or was Westworld's high-rated first season a novelty that cannot be duplicated going forward? We'll begin to find out in April when the latter series finally returns for its sophomore run over 16 months since it last aired.
The 10-episode second season will introduce a new park—the samurai-themed Shogun World—with four more to come in the future. New cast members Hiroyuki Sanada, Peter Mullan, Katja Herbers, Gustaf Skarsgard, and Fares Fares will join returning stars Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, James Marsden, and Jeffrey Wright. It doesn't look like Anthony Hopkins—who earned one of the show's year-leading 22 Emmy nominations last season—will return, though don't rule anything out, since the producers and network have been reluctant to reveal cast information for the coming episodes.
