Spring TV Preview: The 30 Most-Anticipated Shows
Does TV save its best shows for the end of its season? The answer may be yes, given that the next few months will see the returns of acclaimed programs like The Americans, Game of Thrones, Veep, and Catastrophe. There are also some promising newcomers headed to the small screen in the coming weeks, including several Netflix comedies, the latest from Shonda Rhimes, and a drama produced by Steven Soderbergh.
Below, we highlight 30 intriguing shows scheduled to debut between now and early May, listed in order by premiere date. (For information on other upcoming TV debuts, visit our TV Premiere Calendar.)
Nearly 7 years after MADtv left the air, Fox once again returns to Saturday night sketch comedy territory with this late-night (11p) series created by The Lonely Island (Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone) with Paul Scheer. But you won't see those four on screen much (if at all). Instead, the cast features Girl Code's Nicole Byer plus Jessica McKenna and Alison Rich, and they'll appear in both filmed segments and sketches performed in front of a live audience.
