Spring TV Preview: The 30 Most-Anticipated Shows
Does TV save its best shows for the end of its season? The answer may be yes, given that the next few months will see the returns of acclaimed programs like The Americans, Game of Thrones, Veep, and Catastrophe. There are also some promising newcomers headed to the small screen in the coming weeks, including several Netflix comedies, the latest from Shonda Rhimes, and a drama produced by Steven Soderbergh.
Below, we highlight 30 intriguing shows scheduled to debut between now and early May, listed in order by premiere date. (For information on other upcoming TV debuts, visit our TV Premiere Calendar.)
Another of 2015's best new shows, this colorful Emmy-nominated comedy from the 30 Rock team of Tina Fey and Robert Carlock returns for its second season, and its first as a true Netflix series. (Season 1 was written and filmed for NBC before switching to the streaming service.) Expect longer episodes this year as a result, though other changes should be minimal. Producers have mostly kept this year's guest list a secret, though Anna Camp, Zosia Mamet, and Fey herself (playing a new character) will be among those joining returning stars Ellie Kemper, Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski, and Carol Kane.
