Does TV save its best shows for the end of its season? The answer may be yes, given that the next few months will see the returns of acclaimed programs like The Americans, Game of Thrones, Veep, and Catastrophe. There are also some promising newcomers headed to the small screen in the coming weeks, including several Netflix comedies, the latest from Shonda Rhimes, and a drama produced by Steven Soderbergh.
Below, we highlight 30 intriguing shows scheduled to debut between now and early May, listed in order by premiere date. (For information on other upcoming TV debuts, visit our TV Premiere Calendar.)
This serialized comedy series comes from former Daily Show correspondent Jason Jones and his wife, fellow TBS star Samantha Bee. The latter doesn't appear in the show, but Jones stars as the patriarch of a family that is in the midst of a disastrous road trip. Natalie Zea (Justified) also stars in a show that Jones has described as very unlike Vacation and more like a comedic version of Breaking Bad.
