Drama series debuts September 11 on Starz
The latest Starz costume drama traces the rise of Catherine de Medici (Samantha Morton) in the 16th century from teenage orphan to powerful French queen. Also starring Charles Dance, Liv Hill, Sennia Nanua, Colm Meaney, Rupert Everett, and Ludivine Sagnier, the eight-episode series is adapted from Leonie Frieda's book Catherine de Medici by writer Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road), while producers include Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games series). Stacie Passon (Dickinson, Billions) directs tonight's opener and additional episodes.
