Visual Concepts' annual NBA/WNBA title doesn't reinvent the wheel in its newest installment, though it does promise some tweaks to gameplay, including an overall faster pace, new after-dunk celebrations, and a dynamically resizing shot meter that makes it easier for your better shooters to make high-quality shots (and harder to make contested shots). The next-gen console versions of NBA 2K22 will also get a new "City" social space filled with NPCs (and human gamers) and matchmaking options to allow you to create quick 1-on-1 and 3-on-3 games against human or AI opponents. One charming new addition: You'll hear every team's real-life PA announcer in the background.
