Out September 10 for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One,
Out tbd fall 2021 for Switch
While a remastered version of the original 2015 game and its prequel have been pushed back from a planned fall release to early 2022, True Colors, the third mainline installment in the Life Is Strange adventure series, is still on track to arrive in September (though the Switch version will take a bit longer). It marks the first time in the series that Deck Nine, which worked on a pair of LIS spinoff games, is tackling a main installment (rather than Dontnod Entertainment), and it also marks the first time that the full story will be playable all at once rather than released episodically. That bingeable story will center on a new protagonist: Alex Chen, an empathic Asian-American woman who can psychically read the emotions of others, but at the cost of being overwhelmed by those same emotions. She heads to the (fictional) Colorado mountain town of Haven Springs to reunite with her brother after eight years apart, but he is killed in a mysterious accident, leaving Alex to investigate his death.
The first DLC for True Colors, a bonus prequel episode titled "Wavelengths," will release just a few weeks later on September 30 (and is included in deluxe editions of the main game).
