Released in 2019, Judgment was a legal/brawler spinoff from the increasingly popular Yakuza series centering on the investigations of lawyer-turned-detective Takayuki Yagami. Now, with the arrival of a sequel, it appears that Judgment is becoming a series of its own. Lost Judgment returns Yagami (again voiced by actor/popstar Takuya Kimura in the Japanese version and Greg Chun in the English version) for a new case in Yokohama—one that will require him to use his new athletic and stealth abilities as well as his new canine companion. Gameplay will continue to be more action-based than the parent series (Yakuza games are mainly turn-based RPGs), which is one way the two franchises will be differentiated going forward. But one thing both series have in common is their love of minigames, and this new title will include activities ranging from skateboarding to boxing to robot battles to extreme dog walking. Unlike the prior game, Lost Judgment is not releasing first in Japan but rather getting a simultaneous worldwide release.
