Game show debuts September 9 on Peacock
NBCUniversal originally had two high-concept game shows scheduled to debut in late summer. One was based on the family-friendly backyard activity Slip 'N Slide, while the other borrows its premise from an arcade game that involves crossing multiple lanes of high-speed traffic and an alligator-filled river. Can you guess which one proved to be so hazardous to human life that it was canceled before airing? That's right: Ultimate Slip 'N Slide.
Frogger, it turns out, is not so life-threatening in three dimensions. (Even George Costanza knows that.) Based on the hit 1981 videogame, Peacock's Frogger finds contestants navigating a dynamic obstacle course in a quest to win $100,000, resulting in a show a bit like Wipeout. Damon Wayans Jr. and Kyle Brandt host. Three episodes stream on day one, followed by weekly installments.
