Anime anthology series debuts September 22 on Disney+
It's Star Wars like you've never seen it before. Disney invited seven different Japanese anime studios to create a total of nine short films set within the Star Wars universe—centering mostly on new characters, though often in familiar locations—and the results (at least in the trailer) look intriguing. Each of the shorts will be available to stream (all at once, rather than Disney's usual weekly rollout) in both the original Japanese (with subtitles) or in an English-language dub; the latter will feature the voices of Lucy Liu, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bobby Moynihan, Neil Patrick Harris, Alison Brie, Kyle Chandler, Kimiko Glenn, Henry Golding, George Takei, Lorraine Toussaint, Jaden Waldman, and David Harbour. A series of making-of featurettes will also be available to stream.
