Zuzana Mauréry won Best Actress at the 2016 Karlovy Vary Film Festival for her portrayal of a middle school teacher who takes advantage of her standing in the Communist Party to get her pupil’s parents to do her bidding. Set in Bratislava in 1983, director Jan Hrebejk’s (Kawasaki’s Rose) dark comedy has earned excellent early reviews.
