BONUS: Spelunky 2

Release date: tbd

Coming first to PS4 and PC (via Steam), and possibly later to other platforms, Spelunky 2 is the first sequel to Derek Yu's groundbreaking roguelike platformer Spelunky (which dates back to 2008, and received its first commercial release in 2012). Nothing is known about the new game, including a release date.

Will it arrive in 2018? One thing standing in its way: UFO 50, another game that Yu is currently working on. That title will be a collection of 50 full-sized PC games spanning a variety of genres, each with a retro feel (think early 8-bit Nintendo). Yu is just one of multiple designers on board; others include Ojiro Fumoto (Downwell) and Jon Perry (Time Barons).
