The sixth game in Capcom's fantasy action series offers several major changes from past chapters. For one thing, the game will place a greater emphasis on story. At the same time, as the title hints, World takes place in a large, explorable open world: a newly discovered continent filled with creatures and the scientists and hunters who track them. The good news: Despite the massive size of this world, you'll be able to move seamlessly when traveling from region to region—you won't see any loading screens.
A day/night cycle, grappling hooks, camouflage, and a greater emphasis on verticality and climbing are among the other welcome additions in World. At the same time, the gameplay is designed to feel familiar to longtime fans of the series, and may not be as "dumbed down" as some have feared. (Early reports suggest that's it's a challenging game.)
There's no handheld version, but World is coming to PC for the first time, though not until many months after the PS4/XB1 versions (which both arrive later this week).
