Anthology series debuts October 25 on Netflix
Originally ordered by Netflix in 2018 under the title 10 After Midnight, this episodic horror anthology comes from acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro (The Shape of Water, Pan's Labyrinth), whose only previous live-action TV series is The Strain (though he also has the animated Trollhunters at Netflix). Del Toro himself developed the stories for two of the eight episodes (others are a mix of original concepts and adaptations of stories by H.P. Lovecraft and other authors), and though he isn't among the roster of directors on the series, a number of recognizable names are, including Ana Lily Amirpour (A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night), Jennifer Kent (The Babadook), Panos Cosmatos (Mandy), Vincenzo Natali (Cube), and Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight). Cast members include Andrew Lincoln, Peter Weller, Eric Andre, Rupert Grint, Nia Vardalos, David Hewlett, Essie Davis, Glynn Turman, F. Murray Abraham, Sofia Boutella, Steve Agee, Tim Blake Nelson, Kate Micucci, Charlyne Yi, and Crispin Glover. Note the unusual rollout for a Netflix series: Two new episodes will stream each day across five consecutive days.
