October Preview: 25 TV Shows & New Movies to Watch at Home
In the gallery above, our editors have selected the coming month's most promising TV shows (including limited series and specials) as well as movies available to watch at home through VOD and digital purchases, listed in order by premiere date. Many of these titles haven't been reviewed yet (and we haven't seen them), but they are the most intriguing new releases on paper, at least, arriving in October.
Drama/horror series debuts October 16 on Hulu. Marvel's latest TV venture is something a bit different: a full-on horror series. (It's so off-brand, in fact, that the usual "Marvel's" was recently stripped from the show's title.) Elizabeth Marvel (no relation) stars as the institutionalized mother of two adult children (Tom Austen, Sydney Lemmon) with superpowers who moonlight as demon hunters, drawing on their backgrounds as the offspring of Satan. All 10 episodes will be available to stream at once, though you won't find any of the other Marvel shows originally ordered to series at Hulu, as those numerous projects (including Ghost Rider) were all canceled (with the possible exception of a few animated shows that could arrive next year).
