October Preview: 25 TV Shows & New Movies to Watch at Home
In the gallery above, our editors have selected the coming month's most promising TV shows (including limited series and specials) as well as movies available to watch at home through VOD and digital purchases, listed in order by premiere date. Many of these titles haven't been reviewed yet (and we haven't seen them), but they are the most intriguing new releases on paper, at least, arriving in October.
TV special debuts October 15 on HBO Max. Instead of watching the next debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, HBO Max subscribers can sample a more civilized form of politics the night of October 15th. That's when cast members of the beloved NBC series The West Wing (including Martin Sheen, Rob Lowe, Dulé Hill, Allison Janney, Janel Moloney, Richard Schiff, and Bradley Whitford) reunite to perform a staged theatrical presentation of the season 3 episode "Hartsfield's Landing." Michelle Obama, Bill Clinton, Sterling K. Brown, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and The Avett Brothers will also contribute to the special with new between-scenes segments.
