Movie debuts November 4 on The Roku Channel
Daniel Radcliffe stars as beloved musician and song parodist “Weird Al" Yankovic in a comedic, Funny or Die-produced biopic about Yankovic's music career and personal life—with only most of the facts changed. Yankovic himself co-wrote the script, making it his first film project since his 1989 cult classic UHF. Eric Appel (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Silicon Valley) directs a cast that also includes Quinta Brunson (pictured, as Oprah Winfrey), Evan Rachel Wood (playing Madonna as Al's psychotic, fame-hungry girlfriend), and Rainn Wilson (as legendary DJ Dr. Demento), while Toby Huss and Julianne Nicholson also star as Al's parents. If this film's even half as good as its advance publicity photos, we are in for a treat. And there's every reason to believe it is: Weird was the audience winner in TIFF's Midnight Madness section, where critics also had a blast with the film.
