Written and directed by Martika Ramirez Escobar, this love letter to cinema stars Sheila Francisco as Leonor, a retired action filmmaker now struggling to pay her bills. When she sees an advertisement for a screenplay contest, her creative juices start flowing again, until she’s knocked unconscious by a falling TV and becomes the hero of her unfinished screenplay. Stuck in limbo, Leonor re-writes and edits on the fly, hoping to finish her screenplay and win the contest. At this year’s Sundance Film Festival, Leonor took home a World Cinema Dramatic Special Jury Award for Innovative Spirit, a fitting prize given the film’s unique approach to its story.
