Movie debuts November 5 on Apple TV+
If you're looking for an actor to play the only human on screen for the bulk of a film, Tom Hanks would certainly be one of your first choices. But whether Finch turns out to be another Cast Away remains to be seen (and you may already have a guess after watching the trailer). For just his second feature film (following 2010's Repo Men), veteran TV director Miguel Sapochnik (Game of Thrones) enlists Hanks for a post-apocalyptic story about one of the last humans left alive on the planet following a solar event. He's a dying inventor who builds a robot (played via motion-capture by Caleb Landry Jones) who will care for his dog after he is gone. The trio of dog, robot, and human then embark on a road trip across what is left of the American West. Originally titled BIOS, the one-time theatrical release is now an Apple exclusive after a series of COVID-related delays.
