November Preview: 19 TV Shows & New Movies to Watch at Home
In the gallery above, our editors have selected the coming month's most promising TV shows (including limited series and specials) as well as movies available to watch at home through VOD and digital purchases, listed in order by premiere date. Many of these titles haven't been reviewed yet (and we haven't seen them), but they are the most intriguing new releases on paper, at least, arriving in November.
Film anthology debuts November 20 on Prime Video. What's better than one new Steve McQueen-directed film? How about five of them. The 12 Years a Slave director's most ambitious project yet is a five-film anthology (co-produced by Amazon and the BBC) that depicts five different stories taking place in London's West Indian community during various points in the 1960s, '70s, and '80s. Stars include Letitia Wright and John Boyega. McQueen directed and co-wrote all five films (which will be Emmy- but not Oscar-eligible), and they will arrive one film per week on consecutive Fridays. Several have already received outstanding reviews from festival screenings, and they rank among 2020's best films.
The five films included are:
▣ Mangrove, November 20
▣ Lovers Rock (pictured), November 27
▣ Education, December 4
▣ Alex Wheatle, December 11
▣ Red, White and Blue, December 18
