15 Films to See in November
In a month filled with potential best picture nominees (most notably, Manchester by the Sea and Arrival), potential blockbusters (like Doctor Strange, Disney's Moana, and Harry Potter prequel Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), and intriguing works by auteurs like Tom Ford, Warren Beatty, and Paul Verhoeven, there should be no shortage of films to see in theaters. Check out the 15 most promising titles headed to the big screen in November in the gallery below.
Director Paul Verhoeven adds another unique film to his eclectic resume (RoboCop, Basic Instinct, Showgirls, Starship Troopers, Black Book) with this adaptation of the French novel OH... by Philippe Djian. The film didn’t receive any boos when it premiered at Cannes earlier this year, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t controversial—after all, it’s a dark comedy about rape. Isabelle Huppert stars as the head of a successful video game company who is attacked in her home by an unknown assailant. But when she tracks him down, instead of reporting him to the police, they begin playing a dangerous game. Verhoeven’s first French-language film is earning him some of his best reviews in years.
