In a month filled with potential best picture nominees (most notably, Manchester by the Sea and Arrival), potential blockbusters (like Doctor Strange, Disney's Moana, and Harry Potter prequel Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), and intriguing works by auteurs like Tom Ford, Warren Beatty, and Paul Verhoeven, there should be no shortage of films to see in theaters. Check out the 15 most promising titles headed to the big screen in November in the gallery below.
The latest from Walt Disney Animation Studios will face stiff competition from the studio’s other release this year, Zootopia, as well as Pixar’s Finding Dory, The Red Turtle, Kubo and the Two Strings and Sing when it comes to awards season. But families will surely flock to the film over Thanksgiving weekend. Featuring songs by Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda, the film follows a spirited teenage girl (voiced by Auli'i Cravalho) and the demigod Maui (voiced by Dwayne Johnson) as they sail across the ocean in hopes of fulfilling her quest to become a master wayfinder.
