15 Films to See in November
In a month filled with potential best picture nominees (most notably, Manchester by the Sea and Arrival), potential blockbusters (like Doctor Strange, Disney's Moana, and Harry Potter prequel Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), and intriguing works by auteurs like Tom Ford, Warren Beatty, and Paul Verhoeven, there should be no shortage of films to see in theaters. Check out the 15 most promising titles headed to the big screen in November in the gallery below.
Jessica Chastain plays a ruthless lobbyist in this drama from director John Madden (Shakespeare in Love, The Debt, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) and writer Jonathan Perera. Risking her career, she takes on the gun lobby in an effort to pass a gun control bill. With an excellent cast (Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mark Strong, Alison Pill, Jake Lacy, John Lithgow, Michael Stuhlbarg, Sam Waterston and Dylan Baker), a proven director, and timely subject matter, the film and Chastain have strong Oscar potential. Miss Sloane will premiere at the AFI Fest on November 11th before opening in theaters two weeks later.
