Most Anticipated Video Games of 2016, Part 2: New IP and Indie Releases
Earlier this week, we previewed the most-anticipated videogame sequels and remakes coming in 2016. Now, it's time to look at a second batch of games that may be even more important to the future of gaming: brand-new IP. These newcomers may not yet have the name recognition that the established franchises have earned, but will hopefully bring something fresh and original to game consoles (and PCs) this year.
Delayed from last year, the first game from Danish indie studio Playdead since its groundbreaking 2010 hit Limbo should finally arrive on the Xbox One in 2016 (and possibly other platforms after that). Another fairly bleak, mostly grayscale experience (though with a dash of color this time, as well as 3D), Inside centers on a young boy who still has control of his own mind in a desolate, nightmarish, totalitarian future where most citizens have been turned into automatons.
