Monkey movies are making a comeback.
With two big-time movies starring primates—Kong: Skull Island and War for the Planet of the Apes—bowing in 2017, we thought it was time to rank all of the monkey movies of the past 25 years by Metascore.
In this 2003 animated film, Mowgli, Baloo, Bagheera & Co. return from the original Disney film, and the result was commercially successful, collecting $135.7 million at the box office.
But that doesn't mean it was good. The Chicago Reader’s J.R. Jones said this movie “was about as unpleasant as having my wisdom teeth pulled.”
