Monkey movies are making a comeback.
With two big-time movies starring primates—Kong: Skull Island and War for the Planet of the Apes—bowing in 2017, we thought it was time to rank all of the monkey movies of the past 25 years by Metascore.
Helmed by Peter Jackson, this 2005 film re-imagines the classic King Kong story as the giant ape is brought to civilization from the wild.
Premiere called King Kong “a pretty damn good popcorn movie.”
