Monkey movies are making a comeback.
With two big-time movies starring primates—Kong: Skull Island and War for the Planet of the Apes—bowing in 2017, we thought it was time to rank all of the monkey movies of the past 25 years by Metascore.
In this 1999 animated film, an English couple are killed by a leopardess off the coast of Africa. Their orphaned son, Tarzan, is then raised by a gorilla named Kala (Glenn Close).
The New Yorker called Tarzan an “exhilarating, surf-topping ride.”
